Interviewing Kristofferson and Baez, the last Highwayman tour... 9 years before Johnny Cash said goodbye and became a saint with June Carter.... or as close as anyone could ever become to a saint... in my book... right there with Louis Armstrong , Jimmie, Stevie Ray, and Baez's sister. They gave back, and were glad to do it. I thnaked Kris for Heaven's Gate. I thanked Joan for the peace marches and the courage it took to calim Cesar Chavez as brother. I thnaked them for helping make my world better, as I also thanked Geronimo's grandson, and Redcloud's great, grandson, and Crow Dog's and many others contributuions. I went first hand, and paid homage to the elders who devoted lives/paths to make my world (and yours) better. Looking back, I can't believe how many of these have gone on to surpass their past achievements... It's a call for us all to match their lives, by doing ours with equal grace in the towns where it matters most.
