Taos Mission church. 1991. c. T.K.S. I'd gotten there about 4:30 am the Sun was trying to rise. I'd moved from my overnite campsite (parking lot nearby), because the office workers were arriving and that's just the way it was. Since I'd never been to Taos Pueblo, I didn't understand that it was actually LIVED IN. Silly white guys think this way , sometimes, by default. I caught a few smiles from villagers who were gathering fire wood, water, or cooking bread out back in the adobe ovens. But others glared at me, and though I was invited to chat, I knew I had to check myself back at the car. there, facing the REAL entrance, was a sign "Please do not enter before 6 am, please do not bother the members of this community". This mission church was surreal in that dawn light. It felt like it was glowing. I am not sure who stole this painting, but it's not here... and it sure was nice.  Posted by Hello
